Moon Temple – Inkilltambo
Best half day hike for hiking in the southern area of Cusco city, to see the archeological sites of Choqekiraw Puqio and Inkilltambo, following a farmers trail which also connects with other interesting places in the Archeological Park of Sacsayhuaman.
This half-day hike will take us around the Sacsayhuaman Archaeological Park, to the valley of the Kallachaqa River in the micro-basin of the Cachimayo River; east of the city of Cusco. The archaeological sites that we will visit will show us a little more of the mastery developed by the Incas in their adaptation and management of the environment to be used, not only as production sites, but also as places of worship for their divinities and understanding of the universe.

These Inca vestiges are considered Huacas or sacred spaces and make up the system of Huacas and Seqes of the city of Cusco. This system of Huacas and Seqes consolidated the power of the families of the Cusco nobility, since these families were owners of the spaces where these huacas were located and were in charge of maintaining the cult of their divinities, under the animist perspective with which they understood the world and the universe.
