Type of Service to Machu Picchu:
We have two categories within our group services to the citadel of Machu Picchu, for both categories you can choose which option suits you best:
Lunch:
1.- Lunch in a tourist restaurant in Aguas Calientes (buffet)
2.- Lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge (close to the ruins) buffet
Category of Train:
1.- Vistadome Service (leaving from Cuzco or Ollantaytambo) (*)
2.- Backpacker Service (leaving from Cuzco or Ollantaytambo) (*)
(*) In both cases the transfer to the station in Cuzco or Ollantaytambo is included.
Program itinerary
Day 1: Cuzco - Machu Picchu - Cuzco
After an early breakfast, we go to the station, where we will board the train to Aguas Calientes (2080 masl / 6824 ft). Upon arrival we will take a bus to the archaeological complex of Machu Picchu, knows as the Lost City of the Inkas where we will visit its principal plazas and temples. The tour of Machu Picchu will allow us to understand the high level of development the Andean civilization achieved through the Inkas.
A supremely religious site, Machu Picchu demonstrates the superior knowledge achieved in astronomy and astrology. This knowledge was gained by measuring dry and rainy seasons through the solstices, and was indispensable for the development of agriculture.
We enjoy our lunch in Aguas Calientes, and then take the train back to the city of Cuzco in the afternoon. Transfer from the station to the hotel.
